Who we are

What data we process
When you use the contact form, we process the details you enter yourself: first and last name, e-mail address, optionally the name or ENI number of your vessel, the subject and your message. If you e-mail or call us directly, we process the details from that e-mail or conversation.
Why we use this data
We use your data only to answer your question and, if you wish, to prepare a quotation or assignment. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to your question, or the preparation of an agreement with you (Article 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
How long we keep data
Messages sent through the contact form are kept no longer than needed to handle your question, and in any case no longer than two years after the last contact, unless an assignment follows. Data needed for our accounts is kept as long as the law requires (tax retention period: 7 years).
Sharing with others
We do not sell your data and do not share it with third parties, except with service providers we need to run this website and our e-mail (hosting and e-mail). We make agreements with them about protecting your data.
Cookies and external services
This website does not place tracking or advertising cookies and does not use analytics services. The contact form only uses a temporary functional session cookie to limit abuse; it disappears when you close your browser. Fonts and images are loaded from our own server; no data is sent to Google or other third parties. The customer portal (Customer login) runs on this server. It uses only functional cookies: a session cookie to keep you signed in and a cookie that remembers your language. For your account we store your name, company, e-mail address, an encrypted password and when you signed in. Some tools in the portal open at Anthropic (Claude); the privacy policy of that service applies there.
Security
The website uses a secure connection (HTTPS). We take appropriate measures to protect your data against loss and unauthorised access.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict processing, to object and to data portability. Send your request to wim@techbs.nl; we respond within one month. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).

We may amend this privacy statement. The most recent version is always on this page.
